Dr. Holly Atkinson to Speak at MeHAF Annual Meeting
Maine Health Access Foundation Annual Meeting 2008
Dr. Holly Atkinson, continued:
With plenty of practical take-home advice, Dr. Atkinson will present "Achieving Optimal Health" exploring different dimensions of community and individual well-being, presented in a down-to earth way.
With a MD from Rochester University School of Medicine and Dentistry and a MS in journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Dr. Atkinson is uniquely suited to present meaningful health information and the latest research findings with the proper context and "what does this mean for Maine and what does it this mean for me?"
Dr. Atkinson is medical editor-in-chief of Everydayhealth.com, a leading health website and is the former president of ivillageHealth. She has extensive experience as a medical correspondent including assignments for NBC's Today Show, The CBS Morning News and the PBS show BodyWatch. Dr. Atkinson was a member of the original team who launched JournalWatch, a monthly summary of medical research findings developed for the practicing physician by the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS), publisher of the New England Journal of Medicine. She is immediate Past President of Physicians for Human Rights and has served on the board of Legal Momentum, the nation's oldest and largest women's civil rights organization.
