The Maine Health Access Foundation is governed by a 15 member statewide Board of Trustees. The Board is comprised of distinguished individuals selected for service based on their recognized professional expertise, experience and deep personal commitment to promoting access to health care in Maine.

CHERYL RUST Prior to her work in the food service industry, Ms. Rust was a soft goods divisional manager in Massachusetts with Stop and Shop Companies, the Bradlees Division. Since 1977 she has owned and operated Le Garage, a full service restaurant in Wiscasset. Le Garage seats approximately 175 people and depending upon the season employs between 35 and 55 people. By its very nature, her work in the restaurant keeps her engaged with a substantial demographic cross section of the community through both employee and customer bases. LAURIE EDDY, MSN, FNP, NP-C Laurie Eddy currently serves as the Executive Director of Eastern Maine AIDS Network (EMAN) which is devoted to the case management of people with HIV and AIDS. EMAN also offers HIV prevention education, outreach, support groups and harm reduction for HIV/HEP C through needle exchange. Laurie obtained her nursing degree from the Eastern Maine Medical Center School of Nursing in 1975. She was certified through the University of Pennsylvania as an OB-Gyn Nurse Practitioner in 1982, and has obtained both her BSN and MSN degree from the University of Maine. SARA GAGNE'-HOLMES, JD Sara Gagné-Holmes is Executive Director of Maine Equal Justice Partners, a non profit legal aid organization that represents individuals below 200% of poverty in the courts, before administrative agencies and in the legislature. MAROULLA GLEATON, MD As a full-time, practicing physician, Dr. Maroulla Gleaton understands health care delivery firsthand. This understanding is broadened by regular contact with other physicians and health providers throughout the state as a member of the Executive Committee of the Maine Medical Association. DICK MARSTON Mr. Marston has recently retired from his position as Manager, Human Resources for The Madawaska, Maine operation of Fraser Papers Inc. LISA MILLER, MPH Lisa Miller serves part-time as the Senior Program Officer of the Bingham Program, a charitable endowment that focuses its giving in Maine, administered by the New England Medical Center in Boston. WAYNE W. MYERS, MD Wayne Myers M.D. is a retired pediatrician. He spent most of his career developing and managing a rural allopathic and osteopathic medical school, allied health and AHEC programs in Alaska, the Pacific Northwest and Appalachian Kentucky. He directed the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy for two years and was president of the National Rural Health Association in 2003. KAREN O'ROURKE, MPH Karen O’Rourke: Karen most recently was the Vice President, Operations at the Maine Center for Public Health. Her work focused on a range of public health systems and program issues including obesity, public health systems performance assessments and emergency preparedness. Prior to MCPH, Karen spent five years at the City of Portland’s public health division working on issues such as oral health, tobacco use, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. NEIL ROLDE Mr. Rolde served for 16 years as a member of the Maine House of Representative and 6 years as assistant to Governor Kenneth Curtis.
