When Maine Development Foundation (MDF) and the State Chamber of Commerce asked Maine employers of all sizes what prevented growth, insurance and spiraling health care costs topped the list. Maine employers want to know if new state and federal reform laws will help or hinder their bottom lines. As a trusted, nonpartisan economic development organization, MDF offers common ground for discussing complex issues based on facts, without spin. With MeHAF support, MDF convened a business advisory group to guide how MDF and others could help employers understand these new laws. After Maine's legislature enacted sweeping changes in health insurance regulations,
MeHAF, MDF and others organized presentations in Bangor, Lewiston and Augusta featuring health care experts from across the spectrum to provide the facts. It's what businesses need to make good decisions.
