Initiative-based Grants (competitive grants)

The MeHAF Board determined that to leverage our resources most effectively, the Foundation must support strategic interventions that will help transform health care in Maine. Our goal is to transform our current fragmented health system into a high quality, efficient, inclusive and patient-centered system. Because system-level reform is a long-term and complex process, MeHAF supports both short-term improvements as well as strategies for long-term, comprehensive change.

Three major priorities frame MeHAF's major grant funding and related programs. This approach involves periodic competitive grant solicitations, as well as analytic efforts, such as environmental scans, research, and staff outreach.
